Zentera - Early Access 0.3


CHANGELOG v0.3:

This early pre-release version represents a work-in-progress snapshot of our game - Zentera. While it’s not feature-complete or fully polished, it gives you a first look at the core gameplay, visuals, and tone we're aiming for.

version 0.3 brings a lot of improvements, fixes and polish to Zentera, including animations, vfx, art assets, Quality of Life improvements such as a pause menu with a level reset, and much more:

Changes in version 0.3:

  • ✅Added player animations (idle, walk, pull and lick animations)
  • ✨Added Level art assets to Level 2 and Level 3
  • ✨Improved Main Menu level visuals
  • ✨Improved and added Lighting to the Onboarding Level and Level 1
  • ✨Added art assets for many interactables (doors, levers, crates, pressure plates, buttons)
  • ✨Added particle VFX to the Player and throughout some of the levels
  • ✨Improved Skybox lighting and added new skyboxes to the levels
  • 🔊Added sound effects to some elements such as doors, levers, crates and buttons 
  • ✅Added a Main Menu with Resume / Restart button, and a HUD which tracks collectibles collected
  • ✅Added On-screen controls to the HUD
  • ✅Added a player Sillhouette Shader which makes the player visible through otherwise obstructing terrain
  • ✅Added post-processing settings (saturation and exposure)
  • 🔧Decreased the length of the Player Tongue in all levels
  • 🔧Improved Aiming reticle and changed the color to make it stand out from the Tongue more
  • ✅ Added destruction event at the beginng of Level 1
  • 🎮Control scheme has received slight changes for Controllers (view front page to see exact control scheme)
  • 🔧Improved collision in all levels
  • 🛠️Fixed issue where shadows would lag behind for a frame
  • 🛠️Fixed player step-up on slopes and staircases to be more responsive
  • 🛠️Fixed bug where crates would fall through the floor in level 1
  • 🛠️Fixed bug where the player would fall off the map in certain spots (Onboarding level, Main Menu and level 2)
  • 🛠️Fixed a bug that caused the tongue to "lick" through objects
  • 🛠️Fixed an issue causing crates on Level 1 to be pushed 2 grids instead of 1
  • 🛠️Fixed gate collision in Level 1 that allowed you to walk through them at times

KNOWN ISSUES / BUGS:

  • ⚠️Tongue model briefly appears in the back of the players head when used
  • ⚠️Level 2 pressure plate and gate colors dont always correspond correctly
  • ⚠️The player can sometimes get stuck when falling down to the start in level 1
  • ⚠️ Crates can sometimes not be pushed correctly in Level 2 on the ground floor
