A downloadable game for Windows

Deep in the recesses of a land entombed in ice and blight, you, a lone traveler, are seeking remedy. Long before, hordes of the wretched and afflicted were sent away, imprisoned to perish in excruciating agony. The curse from their withered bodies permeated the ground and gave life to statues and idols of worship, which once were symbols of hope, rebirth, and salvation.
Descend into the ancient ruins, fend off against the devils that lurk in the chilling mist and survive to uproot the evil within.

Palegrave is a fast-paced arena survival shooter inspired by the chaos of Devil Daggers. Shoot and blast through relentless waves of enemies or rely on your movement to stay alive. Collect gems to manipulate time and push your score higher, fighting for your place among the top.
This project was developed by a group of 12 first-year AGM Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) students over the course of 6 weeks. The goal was to deliver a game demo that reinterpreted the core loop of a selected reference game (Devil Daggers) through cross-disciplinary collaboration.

I love the fact that it's compatible with way more than just Xbox controllers, but... trying to survive longer than 40 seconds is a serious challenge.

This game is extremely unoptimized and cant even get passed the title screen.
this is disappointing because the game looks really good.

Get bad kid
How :o
Intended to play it for 5 minutes just to see what it was like and ended up playing for an hour. The game play is fun and fluid, the visuals easy to read and the game play loop is very captivating. The ways the game increases in difficulty is great too.
If I could offer some advice it would maybe be a health bar? It was hard for me to know how far away I was from death as some enemies would kill me and others wouldn't.
I look forward to where you go next with this. I think something like small buffs or perks that drop from enemies could be fun.
Hi, the player actually has 1 health, but the effects of the screen that indicate enemy proximity, can sometimes be confused for actual damage. Was that also the case with you? If so, other people might get confused too, so we gotta look into that. Thanks for the kind words btw :)
