Patch Notes – Build 0.9

Combat Loop Update

This update marks the first version where the complete combat loop is integrated and playable from start to finish. Players can now engage with the creature encounter.

Creature & Combat

  • Improved balancing of creature attacks.
  • Creature attacks now occur more frequently.
  • Added new attack sound effects.
  • Added new visual effects for creature attacks.
  • Adjusted scaling of various combat VFX.
  • Fixed an issue with the corruption point attachment location.

Feedback & Polish

  • Added camera shake feedback for player hits and corruption pulling.
  • Added player hit sound effects.
  • Added boat collision sound effects.
  • Added boat landing sound effects.
  • Improved lighting throughout the arena.
  • Added additional set dressing and environment polish.

Camera Improvements

  • Tweaked turn rate behavior at different movement speeds.
  • Added a "Reset to Gaze" camera feature.
  • Fixed camera jitter when automatic rotation was disabled.
  • Fixed camera snapping issues when leaving the hooked state.
  • Fixed camera snapping issues when looking from certain camera angles.
  • Fixed FreeLook functionality while hooked.

UI & Settings

  • Added an outro cutscene.
  • Added a reset to main menu option.
  • Controller rumble intensity can now be adjusted in the settings.
  • Fixed a UI issue where blue borders would appear around hovered elements.

Gameplay Fixes

  • Fixed onboarding bug, where it counted failed corruption pulls as a success.
  • Fixed lasso VFX looping indefinitely.
  • Fixed lasso VFX remaining after being hooked.
  • Disabled collision on cacti to prevent movement interruptions.
