Main Menu
+ A new menu where you can choose one of 5 new challenges to explore.
Pause Menu
- Removed the ‘Level Select’ button.
- Moved the whole menu a bit down, so you can still see the timer on the background and doesn't clip.
Levels
+ Replaced the previous 9 levels with 6 challenges. These are challenges and not fully finished levels, and some don’t have all the required level features implemented.
+ Created new Materials based on the template from Alan Jack, these materials load in correctly and don't create the visual bug we previously had.
Features
Stomp Feature
- FIXED double jump after stomping on a trampoline cube.
- Mostly Fixed exploit that allows stomping on interactable object such as destructible blocks without falling through them. This is a manual fix that needs to be looked at in every level individually so fully fixing it throughout the builds might be inconsistent.
Timer
- <span class="TextRun SCXW230691064 BCX0" <the="" time<="" span="">>span class="TextRun SCXW230691064 BCX0">r now ticks accurately, previously the timer would be off by a couple of seconds.</span>
Button
- New materials applied to the Button.
What you’ve delivered this week.
Everyone focused on exploring challenges/moments in their sketches and- respective levels. We have created 5 new challenges that are more in alignment with each other and that show the focused vision of our game more.
What do you want feedback on specifically?
Given the fact that we mostly worked on creating challenges this week, we would like some feedback on our challenges. Mostly focused on the design and the clarity of how these challenges are presented- and perceived.
Any outstanding problems we should be aware of (known bugs)?
- When the player stomps on a Trampoline Block next to a Stomp-able Block that’s on the ground, the player launches in the air as well as the Stomp-able Block.
- When spamming the Stomp Ability on a Trampoline Block, its mesh gets smaller and smaller because it does not have enough time to resize itself.
- A Stompable Block can be moved when walked towards- and stomped against in quick succession.
What you intend to achieve next week, and the weeks after that?
We have made a couple of challenges this week, next week we want to focus on creating some more challenges and making actual levels out of these. We are also going to make a tool which can help us grade the challenges and levels by difficulty. This will help us in deciding which levels come first to create <span class="TextRun SCXW230691064 BCX0" <the="" best="" introduction="" to="" mechanics<="" span="">>span class="TextRun SCXW230691064 BCX0">.</span>
