Patch 0.1.3 - The Official Itch Refinery Release
Cultists, a new weekly patch has been released, as promised! A few issues kept us from updating on Thursday, but they've been ironed out and our official Itch Refinery release patch is now live. What's changed, you ask? Here's a text wall for all the changes!
What's New:
- Added a new Maze level. You can either progress through the levels to reach it, or select it from the level selection menu.
- Added several new textures.
- You can say that we've ended support for "Light" mode.
- You can now cast Lightning and Water Stream in the game.
- Do they do anything? Well that's a different matter entirely...
- Added a cooldown system for all abilities. You can also switch between them and the HUD displays the remaining cooldown.
- Villagers can now spawn within levels.
- These villagers seem to breed like bunnies!
- Added several new 3D models, including a model for our cultist.
- He might be small, and he might not have a face, but we did make him with a lot of heart!
- A brand new main menu screen, along with an end-of-level screen to show you your statistics.
- It only shows zero because the Dark Lord is evil and he doesn't acknowledge your sacrifices...
- Added new music tracks for the main menu and for gameplay.
General Changes:
- Levels now have their own sacrifice requirements. The number of villagers in each level varies as well.
- You can now return to the main menu from the levels.
- A proper level structure has been added, moving you from one level to the other as you complete them.
- Level layouts and terrain have been updated. Exit points and the levels in general should feel a lot more natural now.
- Reworked the Gust of Wind ability. It now pushes objects and villagers closer to you further away, with the strength of the push getting reduced based on how far out they are from where you casted it. The push effect should no longer be framerate dependent. Expect more consistent ragdoll physics.
- Fires can now be put out with the new Water Stream ability.
- Updated AI behaviour patterns. Villagers now actively flee from you once the first sacrifice has been made. An insanity meter for each villager slowly fills up, and they'll eventually attempt to exit the map once it's high enough if there are any open exit points.
Known Issues: To be addressed in future patches.
- End-of-level statistics do not show you your stats currently. Expect a fix soon™.
- Villagers can collide with some parts of the pit, stopping them from falling in at times. We're looking into possible fixes at the moment.
- The pit can sometimes turn into a trampoline and make villagers fly instead of pulling them in.
- It's not a bug...it's a feature!
- If you fly away after using the pit like a trampoline, you can use the Water Stream ability like a jet pack!
- This one's definitely a feature...
