Vana | Development Log v0.3 - Early Access Out Now!


General Changes:

  • The game has gone in Early Access!
    • We can't wait to hear what you have to say and think about the work we have done so far, we plan to continue to update the game in the coming weeks to keep a heads up to any new updates that might arrive!
  • The persistent level and its individual sections have gone through another iteration. This iteration includes...
    • Section 0 | Onboarding (Melina, Olivier, Luciano) - In the Build
      • Section 0 has been reworked to be less boring.
      • This section has started the set-dressing process.
    • Section 1 | Telekinesis (Matteo, Olivier, Luciano) - In the Build
      • Section 1 has been reworked to be less tedious.
      • This section is planned to be set-dressed before the end of the sprint.
    • Section 2 | Enemies (Olivier, Luciano, Sebastiaan) - Blocked Out
      • Section 2 has been reworked to focus on the usage of enemies rather than moving platforms.
    • Section 3 | Fast-Paced Platforming (Rico, Olivier) - Planned For the 21st

  • The Main Menu, Pause Menu and Options Menu have been iterated upon...
    • The Font has changed across the Main Menu, the Pause Menu and the Options Menu.
    • The Buttons on the Main Menu have been centered.
    • The "Back" button has been removed across the Option Menus.
  • There is a Text render at the end of Section 1 to indicate the end of the current build. There is more content, but it needs to be polished in order to be presentable.


Fixes:

  • Fixed the mouse cursor sending you to the top-left corner of the screen during the boot-up sequence.
  • Fixed the Options Menu moving around when it is scrolled through.
  • Fixed the Options Menu opening up the old level.
  • Fixed the Pause Menu being able to be be opened during the cutscenes.
  • Fixed the Options button  not having the decals when hovered over.
  • Minor issues found throughout the project have been fixed.
    • This includes things such as...
      • Relocating objects.
      • Rotating objects.
      • Placing supporting objects.
      • Linking blueprints.
      • Fixing minor bugs.
      • Etc.


Known Issues:

  • There are little to no Checkpoints placed throughout the level. There is an update planned in the near future concerning the full implementation of Checkpoints and Death Zones.
  • The Player cannot respawn in certain areas of the level.  There is an update planned in the near future concerning the full implementation of Checkpoints and Death Zones.
  • The "Credits" button, found in the Main Menu, breaks the build and forces the Player to restart the game.
  • The onboarding triggers aren't appearing.
  • The Player can glide in an upward manner.
  • The initial Cutscene isn't triggering.
  • The Player is unable to navigate the main menu using the Arrow Keys unless the mouse cursor is hovering over either of the buttons.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Resolution", the resolution settings do not save, nor apply.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Audio", the audio settings do not save, nor apply.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Game", multiple actions can be set to the same input. This makes the game impossible to beat in some cases.
  • The TeleCube can be flung into the level's geometry by standing next to wall and clipping the TeleCube through the wall.
