Release Notes for Vana [Version 0.4]

General Changes:

  • The Splash art on the Main menu and Options menu has changed.
  • The Game has an icon now.
  • The Credits can now be skipped.
  • The "Loss of a Pet" cutscene has been added to the build.
    • It can be found at the end of Section 1.
  • The Level has received an update!
    • Section 0 is almost done being set-dressed.
    • Section 1 is being set-dressed.
    • Section 2 is blocked out and is being set-dressed. It is now available in the build!
    • Section 3 is blocked out and is being set-dressed. It is now available in the build!
    • Section Tree is being set-dressed. It is now available in the build!
    • Checkpoints and Death Planes have been placed throughout the level.
  • Background Music has been added to the build.
    • Press "L" to enable background music.
    • Press "L" again for a second song.
    • Press "L" again to switch back to the first song.
      • Background Music cannot be turned off once enabled.
  • The Tree at the end of the game has received a make-over.
    • Added Leaves.
    • Added proper Collision.
    • Added proper Texturing.
  • 3D Cutscenes have been added to the build.
    • Added 3D Cutscene at the end of Section 0.
    • Added 2 3D Cutscenes at the end of Section 1.
      • The 1st 3D Cutscene at the end of Section 1 is broken.
    • Added 3D Cutscene at the beginning of Section 4.
    • Added 3D Cutscene at the end of Section 4.
      • The 3D Cutscene at the end of Section Tree is broken.
  • The Urn  Altar has been added to the build.
  • The Lighting has been iterated upon.


Fixes:

  • Fixed the Button to reset the location and rotation of all the components its activation triggered on Player respawn.
  • Fixed the Checkpoints and Death Zones throughout the level.
  • Fixed the movement that happened hovering over the buttons in the Options menu. The buttons no longer move.
  • Fixed the ability to open the Pause menu during the initial cutscene.
  • Fixed the ability to press the "Play", "Options", "Credits" and "Quit" buttons during the Credits.
  • Fixed the ability to mash the "Play" button on the Main menu, glitching out the Loading screen.


Known Issues:

  • Some Onboarding triggers are not appearing in the build.
    • WASD
    • Double Jump
    • Glide
    • Cube Interaction
  • The 2D and 3D Cutscenes in Section 2 are not in the build.
  • The 1st 3D Cutscene in Section 1 is broken.
  • The 2nd 3D Cutscene in Section 4 is broken.
  • The Boss Enemy at the end of Section 2 is non-functional.
  • The Mouse Cursor is anchored to the top-left of the screen on start-up.
  • Player Death SFX are a bit loud.
    • Player Death SFX are played twice on occasion.
  • Enemy Death VFX are a bit excessive.
    • Enemy Death SFX is triggered a little too late.
  • The Player is unable to Double Jump out of a Slide.
  • The Player is unable to navigate the main menu using the Arrow Keys unless the mouse cursor is hovering over either of the buttons.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Resolution", the resolution settings do not save, nor apply.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Audio", the audio settings do not save, nor apply.
  • In the Pause Menu, under "Game", multiple actions can be set to the same input. This makes the game impossible to beat in some cases.
  • The TeleCube can be flung into the level's geometry by standing next to wall and clipping the TeleCube through the wall.
